Coverage for Pregnant Individuals

Virginia offers several health coverage programs for qualifying pregnant and postpartum women: Medicaid for Pregnant Women, FAMIS MOMS, and FAMIS Prenatal Coverage.

FAMIS Prenatal Coverage

FAMIS Prenatal Coverage is full coverage for pregnant women who do not meet immigration status rules. Coverage continues for 60 days after the birth.

FAMIS MOMS

The FAMIS MOMS program provides health care coverage during pregnancy and for a full year after the birth.

Medicaid for pregnant women

With Medicaid for pregnant women, you get full health care benefits during your pregnancy and for 12 months after your baby’s birth.
